This Asian plant hopper called spotted lanternfly was first found in New Jersey in 2018. It feeds on sap, bark, and leaves of over 70 tree and plant species such as tulip poplars, willows, ash, maples, and birch. If you’re fond of gardening, you need to protect your plants from this pest.
Acrobat Ants
This type of ant can hold its abdomen in an acrobatic display over its entire body. They range in color from black, brown, and light yellow. They can bite animals and people, but mostly they’re a nuisance-causing pest that can contaminate food and damage insulation leading to short circuits in the office or home.
Deer Ticks
Known as black-legged ticks, deer ticks have orange-black and oval-shaped bodies with black legs. They take a blood meal to grow in color and size. These ticks are dangerous because they carry diseases including Lyme disease. However, not all black-legged ticks are infected and disease-transmitting. Nonetheless, you should be careful.
Jumping Spiders
They aren’t dangerous but sure cause nuisance. Jumping spiders can also bite but on rare occasions only. Their venom isn’t strong enough to affect people, and mostly they jump away than attack.
